About

Hello everyone! My name is Nathan Luis Steinke and I want you welcome you to my site! First off, below is my 3rd person bio, (…it’s tough for me to write about myself like this so I’ll just get that out of the way and move on to being normal again.)

BIO

Nathan Steinke is an award-winning music composer. He specializes in creating original music from his home studio located in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Awarded the Grand Prizewinner of the 2014 International Music Licensing Contest for his composition “Psychedelic Flashback”. He placed as a Finalist in 2015 for his movie soundtrack, “Feral”.

“Extremely emotional and visual.” – Gary Gray, Voting Member Of The Grammy Academy.

Nathan established membership with the ASCAP in 2013 and is striding towards a future in music production. He would love to make music licensing as his full time career.

He would like to have his work featured in film, television and video games along with providing rappers and musicians with high-quality beats and loops.

When not writing music, he enjoys experimenting with different forms of artwork, most of which are highly abstract and dark.

Since he was a child, he has been passionate about being imaginative and inventive and continues to inspire people with his creative visions and music that delve deep into his subconscious mind.

Music Equipment

It all started back 20 years ago with a little program called Rebirth by Propellerhead (now Reason Studios). Since then it’s been Reason 3, 4, 6.5, 9.5 finally upgraded to Reason 10 this last year. I have tried other DAWs through out the years but I know Reason pretty well now and it’s workflow is something I admire.

MIDI Devices

Now, I don’t have the best equipment by any means. Most has been slowly collected over the last 15 years. It’s been quite the journey! Back when I first started I was using my home stereo to mix and master on and well, let’s just say I really had no idea what I was doing back then.

Each week I try to learn something new about music creation in general. Recently it’s all about making better beats and learning all about hooks, melodies and basic song structure.

Below is a quick list of the devices that make up my home studio.

Casio PX-200

Akai MPK Mini 2

Akai MPD18

X-Touch Mini

M-Audio Fast Track Audio Interface

Studio Monitors

Pair of Behringer Truth B2031A Active Monitors

Presonus T10 Temblor Sub-Woofer

Other Hobbies & Activities

I also enjoy painting during the times I am not making music, it’s nice to have another creative outlet when my ears need a break or I am just in the mood to throw some paint around.

Big gamer here as well! Been playing them since I was a kid, (…that’s tough to say.), mostly role-playing games and first person shooters. I also enjoy writing poetry and well…I guess all the normal stuff to boot.

In Conclusion

I am just a normal person that enjoys making music and sharing it with the world. I have leased music here and there but I would really like to take it to the next level. Thank you so much for taking time to read this and if you are feeling social you can follow me at all the media outlets! (I follow everyone back!)
